District 5 detectives are investigating a carjacking that occurred on June 30 around 10:30 a.m. in The Ville neighborhood.
The victim, a 47-year-old man, reported that he had just parked his 2004 Kia Sedona in the 2300 block of N. Euclid when he observed a gray Nissan Altima drive past him. The victim said the driver of the Nissan returned and parked behind him. At that point, a male exited the Nissan and displayed a firearm, then demanded the victim’s car keys. The victim relinquished his keys to the suspect, and then the suspect advised the victim to walk away. The victim complied and the suspect fled in the victim’s car.
This investigation remains ongoing.
