District 3 is investigating a carjacking that occurred on September 9 in the Tower Grove East neighborhood.
Shortly before 6 a.m., officers were called to the 2900 block of Minnesota and met a 39-year-old man who reported being robbed at gunpoint. The man said he was walking to his 2022 Subaru Outback around 5:50 a.m. when a black Cadillac CTS approached, and three male suspects armed with firearms emerged from the vehicle.
The 39-year-old told officers the suspects robbed him of his property, including his car keys. Two of the suspects then entered the victim’s Subaru and fled, followed by the Cadillac CTS. The victim was not injured during this incident.
A few hours after the carjacking, officers received a shots fired call in the 700 block of Clark relative to an occupant(s) of a dark-colored vehicle firing shots. A preliminary investigation revealed the vehicle to be the same Subaru taken in this carjacking incident earlier this morning. The investigation remains ongoing.
