District 1 is investigating after a 34-year-old man carjacking that occurred on August 15 in the Carondelet neighborhood.
The victim told officers that around 9:30 p.m., he was pulling into his driveway in the 7400 block of Sharp when a male suspect approached and pointed a gun at him. The victim said the suspect announced a robbery then entered the victim’s car and told the victim to drive downtown. The victim complied.
The victim further stated he drove to the 1500 block of Lafayatte where the suspect then made him exit the car. The suspect fled in the victim’s 2012 Volkswagen Jetta. The victim was not injured. The investigation remains ongoing.
