Man Carjacked, Teens Arrested Following Pursuit

On March 30th, 2025, just after 12:30 AM, officers responded to a call for a Carjacking at Idaho and Walsh in the Dutchtown neighborhood. When officers arrived, they located the victim, a 51-year-old man, who stated he was forcefully removed from his vehicle at gunpoint by two unknown males armed with guns.

During the preliminary investigation, the victim stated he had just returned home from the movies, and parked his Gray Mazda CX50, when an unknown man knocked on his window with a gun. The suspect stated, “Give me your car” and fearing for his safety, the victim complied. After the victim exited the car, another unknown male appeared and both suspects entered the Mazda and took off.

Approximately one hour later, officers were on patrol when they heard tires screeching near S. Grand and Meramec St. When they investigated, they observed the carjacked Mazda driving recklessly and attempted to pull it over. The vehicle fled and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit continued through multiple neighborhoods before the Mazda struck a curb and became disabled in the Columbus Square neighborhood near 11th Street and Hadley St

Four teens exited the Mazda and fled in different directions. The driver, a 16-year-old boy, was taken into custody after a short foot chase. A 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were taken into custody a short distance away. A fourth teenage passenger successfully made his escape.

No injuries were reported by the victim or suspects. No officers were injured during this incident.
