UPDATE: Man Dies Following Mark Twain Double Shooting, Suspect Charged

UPDATE: The deceased man has been identified as 42-year-old Lance Holmes of St. Louis City, MO.


UPDATE: On August 31, 2025, a 38-year-old man was arrested for this incident. He has been charged with Murder 1st Degree, Assault 1st Degree, two counts of Unlawful Use of a Weapon – Shoot at Motor Vehicle Resulting in Death, four counts of Armed Criminal Action, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by the Circuit Attorney’s Office.


On August 29, 2025, just after 11:40PM, District 6 Officers responded to a call for a shooting in the 5300 block of N Euclid Ave.

When officers arrived, they located two men inside of a parked vehicle, both with gunshot wounds.

The 42-year-old man in the driver seat of the vehicle died on scene.

The 34-year-old man located in the passenger seat of the vehicle was transported to a local hospital where he was listed in Critical-Unstable condition.

Homicide Detectives responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.
