The deceased man has been identified as 43-year-old Craig Greer of the 10 block of S. Hartnett, Ferguson, MO.

Accident Reconstruction is investigating a fatal crash that happened on November 17 at eastbound I-44 & Walnut.
At 10:10 p.m., officers were on a separate call assisting a motorist at I-70 near Memorial when they heard a crash nearby at eastbound I-44 at Walnut. When they responded to that crash, they observed a 2018 Volkswagen Atlas embedded underneath a 2024 Kenworth Tractor Truck.
A preliminary investigation revealed the driver of the Volkswagen Atlas, an unidentified adult male, was travelling at a high rate of speed eastbound on I-44 when it attempted to move around the slower traffic by switching lanes. While switching lanes, the Volkswagen sideswiped a 2017 Dodge Ram and then drove into the rear of the tractor truck.
EMS responded and pronounced the driver of the Volkswagen deceased at the scene. The drivers of the other vehicles were not injured and remained at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
