On January 18, 2025 around 1:47 PM, Officers were patrolling the Hyde Park neighborhood when they observed a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed. The vehicle came to an abrupt stop and the driver, a 21-year-old man, exited with an apparent gunshot wound to his face. Officers observed what appeared to be a close-range gunshot wound to the man’s cheek.
The man reported he was near the intersection of Knapp and Hebert when two suspects approached his vehicle and began shooting. The man drove off and stopped when he saw the officers.
The man was conveyed to the hospital by EMS where he was listed in critical but stable condition.
