On March 30, 2026, around 1:00am, District 1 officers responded to the 7600 block of S. Broadway for a shooting in-progress call.
When officers arrived on scene, they located a 23-year-old man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The man was pronounced dead on the scene.
A preliminary investigation reveals the 23-year-old was in a vehicle that had crashed at the intersection of South Broadway and Courtois. The man had been ejected from the vehicle.
Detectives are working to find out what led up to the man being shot.
The man’s name is not being released until family is notified and the Medical Examiner confirms his identity.
