UPDATE: A 41-year-old man was arrested in connection to this incident on February 23, 2026. The Circuit Attorney’s Office reviewed the case and issued charges against the man for Murder 1st Degree, Robbery 1st Degree, two counts of Armed Criminal Action, and one count of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
UPDATE: The deceased man has been identified as 59-year-old Timothy Rice of Hazelwood, MO.
Homicide Detectives are investigating a shooting that left a man dead on February 2, 2026 in the West End neighborhood.
Around 3:50 p.m., officers were called to a shooting in the 5900 block of Julian. Upon arriving, they located a man in his 50s suffering from a gunshot wound inside a minivan.
EMS responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene. Detectives are working to find out what led up to the man being shot.
