Accident Reconstruction is investigating a fatal wrong-way crash that happened around 1:45 a.m. on January 17 at westbound I-64 near Jefferson.
A preliminary investigation revealed a Dodge Ram was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-64 for unknown reasons when it collided with a Honda Accord near Jefferson. The collision then caused one of the vehicles to strike a third vehicle, a Toyota Camry.
EMS responded and transported the driver of the Dodge Ram, a 22-year-old male, to the hospital where he was listed in stable condition. The driver of the Honda Accord, an unidentified male, died at the scene. The driver of the Toyota Camry, a 41-year-old male, was not injured.
The investigation remains ongoing. An update on the deceased driver’s identity will be provided once the identification process has been completed.
