Update:
Detectives need help finding 45-year-old John Phillips, pictured below, who has been charged for this incident. The Circuit Attorney’s Office issued at-large warrants against Mr. Phillips for Murder 1st, Armed Criminal Action, Robbery 1st and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Mr. Phillips is urged to call CrimeStoppers. Anyone that sees Mr. Phillips is advised not to approached him but call 911. Only tips submitted to CrimeStoppers are eligible for CrimeStoppers’ rewards.

The deceased man has been identified as 62-year-old Mack Wagner of the 1500 block of N. Grand.

Homicide detectives are investigation a shooting that left a man dead on July 29 in the Dutchtown neighborhood.
Around 2:50 p.m., officers received a call for a shooting at the Kaiser Mart located at 5008 S. Grand Blvd. Upon arriving, they located a 62-year-old man on the floor inside business. He was not conscious and barely breathing, suffering from a gunshot wound. EMS transported the victim to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased shortly before 4 p.m.
The Homicide Division is handling the ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is urged to call the Homicide Division directly at 314-444-5371, or anyone with a tip who wants to remain anonymous and is interested in a possible reward can contact CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477).
