District 3 is investigating a domestic shooting that left a man critically injured on May 13, 2025 in Fox Park.
Shortly after 8:40 p.m., officers were called to a shooting in the 2000 block of California. Upon arriving, officers located a 34-year-old male inside a residence suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest.
A preliminary investigation revealed the 34-year-old man was involved in an argument with a known suspect who he is romantically involved with. During the argument, the suspect shot the 34-year-old man.
The suspect, a 51-year-old who identifies as female, was taken into custody at the scene. EMS responded and transported the 34-year-old man to the hospital where he was listed in critical condition. The investigation is ongoing.
