District 1 is investigating a robbery that led to a shooting on March 30, 2025 in the 5200 block of Morganford.
Shortly before 11:30 a.m. on March 31, 2025, officers received a call for a shooting victim at a local hospital. Upon arriving, they met with an 18-year-old male who reported he was robbed and shot at during the robbery on March 30.
The 18-year-old told officers he was walking on Morganford when four unknown males exited a black sedan and pointed their guns at him. The 18-year-old said the suspects announced a robbery and took his money, work clothes, and ID. The 18-year-old said he then ran away after being robbed.
While running away, the 18-year-old said one of the suspects fired a gunshot at him. The bullet from that gunshot ricocheted off the ground and struck the 18-year-old old in the leg. The 18-year-old then said he went home and attempted to “sleep off” being shot. However, he ended up needing medical treatment and called a friend to take him to the hospital on March 31. The investigation is ongoing.
