District 4 is investigating a shooting that injured a 24-year-old man on July 4, 2025 in the 3200 block of School.
A preliminary investigation revealed that around 11:40 p.m., a 37-year-old male was involved in a disturbance with a known 24-year-old male. During the disturbance, the 37-year-old man retrieved a firearm and shot at the 24-year-old male. The 24-year-old male fled from the scene in his car but crashed in the area of Dr. Martin Luther King & Glasgow. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to his neck.
The 24-year-old man was initially listed in critical/unstable condition. His condition was upgraded after surgery to critical/stable condition. The 37-year-old man was taken into custody at the scene.
An investigation into the full circumstances remains ongoing.
