District 3 is investigating a shooting that left a 39-year-old man injured on January 13 in the 4300 block of S. Broadway.
Shortly before 8:50 a.m., officers received a call for a shooting at the Conoco Gas Station. Upon arriving, they located the 39-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds on the lot of the gas station. EMS responded and transported the man to the hospital where he was listed in critical but stable condition.
A scene investigation and review of video footage revealed the suspect vehicle to be a white pickup truck. The vehicle was located at a gas station at Gravois and Russell where the suspect, a 59-year-old male, was taken into custody nearby after exiting from the truck and walking away. Two additional occupants of the truck were taken into custody but released after further investigation revealed the 59-year-old male to be the shooter.
The case was presented to the Circuit Attorney’s Office who elected to issue the following charges against the 59-year-old suspect:
Assault 1st Degree
Armed Criminal Action (two counts)
Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
Possession of a Defaced Firearm
Unlawful Use of a Weapon
