On February 18, District 4 officers responded to a shooting in the 2900 block of James Cool Papa Bell, at approximately 10:48 a.m.
Officers located a 55-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to his torso.
A witness on scene told officers that an unknown man forced his way into their apartment, after a verbal argument with another man that resides with them. The unknown man and the 55-year-old got into a verbal argument that turned physical. The unknown man pulled out a gun and shot the 55-year-old man. The man then ran away after firing additional shots into the apartment’s door.
The 55-year-old man was transported to a nearby hospital where he was listed in critical-unstable condition.
This investigation remains ongoing.
