UPDATE: A 20-year-old man was arrested for this incident. He has been charged with Murder 1st Degree and Armed Criminal Action by the Circuit Attorney’s Office.
Homicide Detectives are investigating the shooting death of a man that happened on January 26, 2025 in the Soulard neighborhood.
Shortly after 1 p.m. on January 26, officers received a call for a shooting at the 8th Street Restaurant. Upon arriving, they located a 22-year-old man inside the business suffering from gunshot wounds.
EMS responded to the scene and transported the man to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. He has been identified as 22-year-old Christopher Frye-Pleasant of St. Louis City.
Detectives are working to find out the motive behind the incident.
