Update: The deceased man has been identified as 32-year-old Joshua Dismukes of the 4000 block of St. Louis Avenue.
Homicide Detectives are investigating a shooting that left a man dead on April 23, 2025 in the 2800 block of N. Vandeventer.
Shortly before 1:30 a.m., officers received a call for a shooting at the B1Market Gas Station. Upon arriving, they located an adult male lying on the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. EMS responded and transported the man to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A preliminary investigation was able to determine the man was shot by an unknown male suspect while at the location. Detectives are still working to find out what led up to the shooting.
