UPDATE: A 56-year-old man was arrested for this incident. He was been charged with Murder 1st Degree, Armed Criminal Action, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by the Circuit Attorney’s Office.
Homicide Detectives are investigation a shooting that left a man dead on November 3, 2025 in Walnut Park East.
Shortly after 3:15 p.m., officers received a call for shooting at Prange & Genevieve Avenues. Upon arriving, officers located a 39-year-old man lying in the street suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He is identified as Javon Carter of the St. Louis City.
