District 1 is investigating a stabbing that happened on March 26, 2025 in the 200 block of Schirmer Street.
Shorty after 8 p.m., officers received a call relative to a stabbing victim that showed up at a local hospital. Upon responding to the hospital, officers met a 35-year-old man that reported being stabbed by an unknown suspect.
The 35-year-old man told officers that around 7:30 p.m., he was walking in the 200 block of Schirmer when he observed an unknown male suspect walking towards his direction. The 35-year-old said he heard the suspect mumble something and then he spoke to the suspect. After speaking to the suspect, the 35-year-old man said the suspect stabbed him in the stomach with a knife.
The suspect fled after the incident. The investigation remains ongoing.
