Mother and Teenage Son Arrested for Robbery

On Monday, July 7, District 4 officers received a call for a Robbery at 3800 Lindell. A 55-year-old woman told officers she was getting in her vehicle when a male grabbed her and knocked her to the ground. He took her keys and drove away in her Subaru Forester. She said she then saw the male pick up a woman and two children just down the street and they all drove away.

Moments later, officers were notified of the location of the Forester. District 5 officers responded to the area of North Kingshighway and Forest Park Parkway. They attempted to stop the Forester, but it took off. The Forester was being driven by a woman, it crashed and became disabled in the 600 block of North Vandeventer.

The 33-year-old woman driving the vehicle was taken into custody after a brief struggle. The front seat passenger, a 16-year-old male ran away on foot but was later caught by officers. There were two children in the backseat of the vehicle.

The 33-year-old woman and the 16-year-old male were both arrested.

The Circuit Attorney’s Office issued charges for Tampering, Aggravated Fleeing, and 2 counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child against the 33-year-old woman. The 16-year-old was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center.
