On January 3, 2026, shortly after 7 PM, District 4 officers responded to N Florissant and Hebert St. for an Accident, Person Struck call.
When officers arrived, they discovered an adult male that had been struck by a vehicle. The man was taken to the hospital by ambulance where he later died.
The SLMPD Accident Reconstruction Unit was requested and is handling the investigation.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the man was dressed in dark colored clothing and crossing N. Florissant in the middle of the block when he was struck by a black Chevrolet Equinox. The driver of the Equinox remained on scene.
