Accident Reconstruction is investigating a crash that left a pedestrian in critical condition on October 13, 2025 in the Central West End.
Shortly after 6:15 a.m., officers received a call relative to a person struck in the 100 block of N. Kingshighway. Upon arriving, they located a man that had been struck by a Chevrolet Malibu. The driver of the Malibu remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
A preliminary investigation revealed the Malibu was travelling north on Kingshighway approaching Lindell when it struck the pedestrian, a 36-year-old man, within the middle lane. It was revealed that the pedestrian, who is a construction worker, was attempting to block traffic in order to move construction equipment from an off-roadway construction site. There was no active roadway work being done at the time of the crash, and the man was wearing construction gear. Accident Reconstruction investigators were unable to locate any barricades or warning devices to inform motorists of a lane closure.
