UPDATE: Pedestrian Struck While Crossing the Street in Columbus Square

The pedestrian has been identified as 38-year-old Sarah Huchendorf of the 3400 block of Itaska.

Accident Reconstruction is investigating after a woman was struck by a car on September 4 in the Columbus Square neighborhood.

Around 5:15 a.m., officers received a call for a person struck at the intersection of Cass Avenue and N. Tucker Boulevard. Upon arriving, they located an unknown female pedestrian that had been struck by a 2015 Dodge Dart. The driver, a 23-year-old woman, remained at the scene.

A preliminary investigation revealed the unknown pedestrian was walking eastbound on Cass in the crosswalk on the north side of the intersection. As the pedestrian was walking across the intersection, three vehicles were traveling on the Stan Musal Bridge / Interstate 70 exit ramp towards Tucker. The pedestrian procceded to walk into the the path of the three vehicles and was struck by the Dodge Dart, which was traveling in lane #1 and had the green light.

EMS responded and transported the pedestrian to the hospital where she was pronounced deceased. The driver of the Dodge is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
