Around 1:30pm on June 20th, 2025, Anti-Crime Task Force detectives located a stolen vehicle in the 5100 block of Ridge wanted for Assault 1st on Law Enforcement from a nearby jurisdiction.
Detectives started their investigation when they located an individual who exited the vehicle and went to the front porch of a residence. When detectives approached, the suspect fled back to the alley where the stolen vehicle was parked in the rear yard.
The individual re-entered the stolen vehicle and then accelerated at a law enforcement vehicle that was stopped in the alley. Shots were then fired by a detective. The suspect vehicle drove through a vacant lot and fled the area.
Metro Air Support located the suspect vehicle unoccupied a short distance away. A search for the suspect is now underway.
At this time, we do not believe anyone was injured.
Detectives assigned to the Force Investigative Unit will now investigate the incident.
