Thursday, March 20, 2025, marks the 10th Anniversary of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s inception of the Real-Time Crime Center.

Since launching its operation in 2015, the RTCC has played a crucial role in police department operations. The center is staffed 24/7 and stands ready to help law enforcement across the entire region.
“The Real-Time Crime Center has transformed the way the SLMPD protects and serves our community,” said St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department Chief Robert Tracy. “The detectives assigned to the RTCC provides law enforcement personnel real-time intelligence that helps build a safer St. Louis.”
- RTCC has assisted in more than 4,800 arrests resulting in more than 11,000 charges
- RTCC started with about 140 cameras — it now has access to nearly 5,000 cameras (public and federated cameras)
- RTCC started with a handful of License Plate Readers — it now has 350 today
- RTCC has assisted in the recovery of more than 3,000 stolen vehicles
