ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department is proud to announce that Officer Thomas Bossch received an Honorable Mention in the prestigious National TOP COPS Awards®, presented annually by the National Association of Police Organizations (NAPO).
Since 1994, the TOP COPS Awards® have recognized law enforcement officers from across the country who have gone above and beyond the call of duty. Nominated by fellow officers, honorees are selected by an independent committee of national law enforcement leaders. This year’s awards highlighted the work of 50 officers representing 16 states and federal jurisdictions who received Honorable Mentions, with only the top ten cases earning the official TOP COPS distinction.
Officer Bossch, who has proudly served the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD) for five years, was among this elite group of public safety professionals to receive national recognition. His courageous service, commitment to public safety, and professionalism reflect the very best of our department and our city.
Officer Bossch was recognized for his work after taking a routine “Call for Help” radio assignment in January of 2024 and launching a full-fledged investigation into a woman being sex trafficked and held against her will at a short-term rental home in St. Louis. Within two days, Officer Bossch received a search warrant to execute at the home which led to the young woman being freed. The suspect involved was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison.
“We are incredibly proud of Officer Bossch for this well-deserved recognition,” said St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department Chief Robert J. Tracy. “His dedication to our mission and to the people of St. Louis is an example for all of us. The national recognition is a testament to the impact he makes every day in our community.”
The SLMPD congratulates Officer Bossch and thanks him for his continued service and devotion to the people of St. Louis.
