Teen Robbed in Dutchtown

District 3 is investigating a robbery that occurred on August 29 in the Dutchtown neighborhood.

At 8:18 a.m., officers received a call to the 3600 block of Michigan for a victim wanting to report a robbery. Upon arriving, a 17-year-old male told officers around 6:50 a.m., he was walking eastbound on Winnebago Avenue near Michigan Avenue when a grey SUV approached him. The teen stated a window lowered on the SUV and an individual inside pointed a handgun at him.

The teen told officers he ran from the SUV; however, the SUV chased him and caught up with him. At that point, the teen said a male passenger suspect threatened to shoot him while a known male suspect exited the car. The teen said the known suspect returned his shoes after realizing they were an imitation brand. The suspect then fled in the SUV.

The victim was not injured during the incident. Anyone with a tip about this incident who wants to remain anonymous and is interested in a possible reward for their tip can contact CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477).
