District 5 officers are investigating a shooting that left a 17-year-old male in critical condition on May 20 in the 1300 block of Goodfellow Blvd.
At approximately 2:30 p.m., officers received a call for a shooting at the location. Upon arriving, they located the teen suffering from a gunshot wound to his abdomen. The teen was unable to provide a statement due to his condition and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
A preliminary investigation was able to determine that the teen was shot by a male suspect while sitting outside of a food store at the location. The suspect, who is also believed to be a teen, fled from the scene after the shooting.
EMS responded and transported the injured 17-year-old to the hospital where he was listed in critical but stable condition. The investigation is ongoing.
