District 1 is investigating a shooting that injured a 16-year-old boy on November 4, 2025 in Dutchtown.
Shortly before 4:40 p.m., officers received a call for a shooting at Virginia Avenue and Bates Street. Upon arriving, they located the 16-year-old who had been shot in the legs. EMS responded and transported the teen to the hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
The teen told officers he was jogging at the location when he was shot. A preliminary investigation revealed an unknown dark-colored sedan fired shots towards the teen at the location and then fled the scene.
An investigation into the motive of the shooting remains underway.
