District 3 is investigating a shooting that occurred on July 30 in the LaSalle neighborhood.
Around 12:40 a.m., officers were called to a shooting in the 1200 block of S. 11th Street. Upon arriving, they located a 16-year-old female with a gunshot wound to her leg. The teen told officers she was standing outside with her cousins when they heard gunshots and then ran inside her residence. The teen further stated they did not see who was shooting or where the gunshots were coming from.
EMS responded and transported the 16-year-old to the hospital where she was listed in serious but stable condition. An 11-year-old male fell during this incident and sustained abrasions to his arm and leg. He was transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
