Shortly before noon on January 14, 2025, officers responded to a shooting in the 1000 block of Hamilton. When they arrived, they located a man in his 30’s inside an apartment who had been shot. The man died at the scene.
As additional officers arrived, they located another male in his 40’s outside in a nearby field who had also been shot. He was taken to an area hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Homicide Detectives responded to the scene to assume the investigation. Preliminary information suggests the two men, who are brothers, had a disagreement inside the apartment when the man in his 40’s shot the man in his 30’s. An additional person, a woman in her 40s who was inside the apartment, fired at the man in his 40’s.
The woman that fired at the man in his 40’s was taken into custody and is cooperating with the investigation. No additional suspects are being sought at this time.
