District 5 is investigating a shooting that left two 23-year-old men injured on April 1, 2025 in the 5300 block of Pershing.
A preliminary investigation revealed that around 11:20 p.m., the two men were with a group of people standing in front of a residence when a dark colored sedan pulled up. Several unknown people then exited the sedan and began shooting at the group in front of the residence. One of the 23-year-old men was struck in the chest and the second was struck in his leg.
EMS responded and transported both 23-year-old men to the hospital. The man shot in the chest was listed in critical but stable condition. The man shot in the leg was listed in stable condition. The investigation is ongoing.
