Two Suspects Arrested after Carjacking, Pursuit from the Greater Ville

District 6 is investigating a carjacking that led to a pursuit and arrest on July 18 that began in the Greater Ville neighborhood.

Shortly before 8:30 a.m. this morning, two suspects reportedly carjacked a victim of their black Toyota Highlander in the area of Newstead and Natural Bridge. A description of the vehicle was dispatched to officers Citywide. Within minutes, an officer observed the victim’s vehicle in the area of 25th and Palm and initiated a pursuit of the vehicle. 

The pursuit eventually led to Interstate 70 and ended near Adelaide after two suspects ran from the vehicle. An 18-year-old male was driving the vehicle and taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit. A 16-year-old male was a passenger in the vehicle and was also taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit. The victim of the carjacking responded to the scene and identified the suspects as the same suspects who committed the carjacking. 

Officers will be seeking charges of Robbery 1st Degree, Resisting Arrest, and Tampering with a Motor Vehicle with both the Circuit Attorney’s Office for the adult suspect and the Juvenile Courts for the juvenile suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
