On June 16th, just before 11:00PM, District 4 officers received a call for a shooting in the 1500 block of N 13th. Street. When officers arrived, they located two 17-year-old males that were shot inside of a vehicle. An additional 16-year-old was also inside the vehicle but was not injured.
EMS responded and conveyed the injured teens to the hospital. The driver of the vehicle was listed in stable condition with a single gunshot wound. The front passenger was listed in critical, but stable condition, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The teens gave multiple conflicting statements to officers. A preliminary investigation revealed the group was driving around the area of the 1400 block of N 10th Street when their vehicle was struck by gunfire. After the shooting, they drove to the gas station in the 1500 block of N 13th Street for help.
