District 3 detectives are investigating after a vehicle crashed in the 1500 block of S. Jefferson on June 23 just after 3:00 a.m.
A 49-year-old woman sustained an apparent gunshot wound to the left temple and a 27-year-old woman was shot in the leg.
Both women were inside of the same car traveling on Jefferson when the occupants of a dark colored sedan began shooting at their vehicle.
The victims’ vehicle struck a light pole. A third woman was inside of the vehicle and not injured.
Both women who were shot were transported by EMS to an area hospital where they were listed in critical/stable condition.
The investigation is ongoing.
