District 5 is investigating an accident that occurred on August 1 on westbound I-64 near S. Taylor Avenue.
Preliminary investigation revealed a 24-year-old woman was driving a 1998 Jeep Cherokee around 12:30 a.m. when the vehicle struck the concrete median barrier for unknown reasons. The woman was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and unable to provide a statement to officers.
The investigation is being handled by the 5th district and is ongoing.
