Woman Critically Injured in Hit-and-Run

Accident Reconstruction and District 6 are investigating1 a hit-and-run incident that left a woman in critical condition on July 27 in the Riverview neighborhood.

Just before 12:05 a.m., officers received a call to the 9200 block of Riverview Drive for a report of a driver that hit a 39-year-old woman and left the scene. A preliminary investigation revealed the woman had just exited a car and began walking west across Riverview. At that time, an unknown dark-colored SUV was travelling south on Riverview with no headlights.

The SUV struck the woman as she was crossing the street. The driver, an unknown male, stopped and exited the SUV but reentered the vehicle and fled from the scene.

EMS responded and transported the 39-year-old woman to the hospital where she was listed in critical/unstable condition. The investigation is ongoing.
