UPDATE: A 31-year-old man has been arrested in connection to this case. The Circuit Attorney has issued charges of Murder 1st and Armed Criminal Action.
Homicide Detectives are investigating a shooting in the North Riverfront neighborhood that left a woman dead on October 14, 2025.
At approximately 2:25 a.m., officers received a call about a 29-year-old woman that was dropped off at an area hospital suffering from a gunshot wound. Sixth District officers responded to the area of North Broadway and East Clarence where it was revealed the shooting took place.
A preliminary investigation revealed the 29-year-old woman had just entered a rideshare at the location when gunshots were fired at the vehicle shortly thereafter. The rideshare driver, who was not injured, drove the woman to a hospital where she died. She has been identified as Trinity Staten of Normandy, MO.
A person of interest, an adult male, was taken into custody for questioning. Detectives are still working to determine what led up to the shooting.
