A death investigation has officially been ruled a homicide after an adult woman was found dead on January 19th, 2026.
District 4 officers were called to a Person Down in the 3800 block of Cook Avenue just after 12:00pm. When officers arrived on scene, they found the woman, believed to be 40-years-old not conscious and not breathing. EMS responded and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
During an autopsy on January 20, 2026, the Medical Examiner’s Office determined the woman had been shot and her death has been ruled a homicide.
The victim has not been positively identified.
