District 3 is investigating a robbery that occurred on March 30, 2025 at the Ridge Crest Apartment complex in Marine Villa.
At approximately 9:40 p.m., officers received a call for a “purse snatching” in the 3600 block of Kosciusko. Upon arriving, they met a 27-year-old woman who told officers she was walking to her car when she heard an unknown male trying to get her attention. The woman said she ignored the male and continued to her vehicle.
While placing items into her car, the 27-year-old woman said she looked up and observed a second unknown male pointing a gun at her while the first male suspect announced a robbery. The woman said the first suspect grabbed her purse from her shoulder and then both suspects ran from the scene.
The 27-year-old woman said she attempted to chase the suspects but stopped when she saw them drop her purse as they continued fleeing. When the woman retrieved her purse, she said her money and firearm were missing.
The woman was not injured during the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
