Woman Shot During Attempted Robbery in Dutchtown

On March 7, 2025, just before 5:45 PM, District 1 officers responded to the 4600 block of S. Spring for a call for a “Flourishing” of a weapon, but did not locate anything.

Moments later, a 21-year-old woman arrived at a hospital for a gunshot wound to her right knee. Officers met with the woman who was accompanied by a 23-year-old man who reported the following:

The 23-year-old man stated he asked the 21-year-old woman to drive him to S. Spring and Itaska so he could buy marijuana from a man he talked with on social media. When they met up, the unknown man attempted to rob them at gun point. The 21-year-old drove off, heard four gunshots, and realized she was shot in the right knee.

The two victims pulled over and changed seats so the 23-year-old man could drive them to the hospital. The investigation remains ongoing.
