District 6 is investigating a shooting that left a woman injured on August 13 in The Greater Ville neighborhood.
Shortly before 2:10 p.m., officers were called to the 3600 block of Taylor for a shooting. Upon arriving, a crowd of people directed officers to the 4400 block of Lexington where a shooting scene was found. A preliminary investigation revealed a 47-year-old woman was shot while inside her vehicle during what is believed to be a gun battle amongst an unknown number of subjects. Two males, 20 and 24 years old, were identified as being involved in the shooting and taken into custody.
EMS responded and transported the 47-year-old victim to the hospital where she was listed in stable condition. The investigation is ongoing.
