District 6 is investigating a shooting that left a woman injured on July 25. The incident allegedly happened along North Broadway.
Shortly before 3 a.m., officers were called to a local hospital after a 29-year-old woman was dropped off by her boyfriend. The woman had a gunshot wound to her leg and was listed in critical but stable condition.
The two told officers they were driving somewhere along North Broadway when they heard gunshots being fired in their direction. They were unable to provide officers an exact location of where they were driving nor a description of the suspect(s). The man, however, stated that he returned fire in the direction of the gunshots before responding to the hospital. The man was not injured during the incident.
