District 4 officers responded to an Assault-Just Occurred in the 1400 block of N. 1st around 6:00 p.m. on August 30.
A 46-year-old woman told officers she got into an argument with an acquaintance. The acquaintance pulled out a hatchet and struck the woman in the back of the head.
The 46-year-old woman had a laceration to the back of her head. EMS took her to an area hospital where she was listed in stable condition.
The investigation is ongoing.
