SUNSHINE LAW AND PUBLIC RECORDS REQUEST

Welcome to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s Sunshine Law information page. It is the policy of the SLMPD to provide access to all open records in accordance with the Missouri Sunshine Law, Chapter 610 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri. The Police Department’s goal is to ensure transparency by making as many of its records publicly available as possible. The Sunshine Law Unit is responsible for ensuring compliance with this law and the Department’s policy.

Visit our On-Line Records Portal to submit, track the status and communicate with us about obtaining any requested document. This system can provide access to police records including: crash reports, criminal incident reports, police calls for service, background checks and other requested records.
