Commander - Specialized Enforcement


Major Joseph Morici started with the St. Louis Metropolitain Police department of January 9th, 1994. As a commissioned officer he began his career as a patrolman in District One. After three years he was assigned to the Mobile Reserve/Swat Unit where he served six years, while assigned to the Mobile Reserve/SWAT Unit he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. At the rank of Sergeant, he was assigned to District Nine, the Narcotics Division, and the Violent Offender Unit. November of 2009 he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant where he was assigned to District Seven, Special Operations, Warrant Fugitive, the Intelligence Division and District Two. In September of 2020 he was promoted to the rank of Captain and was the Commander of District Three. In November of 2023, he was promoted to the rank of Major and is the current Commander of the Specialized Enforcement Division.

Major Morici has received fifteen Awards of Excellence, the Chiefs Letter of Commendation five times and Officer of the Month twice. He has a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Webster University.
